Harvia

Harvia is the brand I have the most direct product experience with — my KIP 6kW electric heater with a 20kg olivine stone load is the centrepiece of my sauna setup. Founded in Finland in 1950, Harvia is the largest sauna and spa company in the world by volume, which means their parts and service network in North America is deeper than most competitors. Their product range runs from the entry-level KIP series (straightforward, reliable, the standard recommendation for first traditional sauna builds) through the Spirit and Globe lines to the premium Legend wood-fired stoves. The Xenio and Griffin control systems work across most of their electric heater line, and the compatibility between controls and heaters is well-documented. Harvia's stone specification — olivine, minimum 20kg load on the KIP 6kW — is specific and worth following. What Harvia does less well than some competitors: design aesthetics (functional rather than design-forward) and the premium end of the performance envelope (IKI and Narvi make better sauna heaters at the top tier).
